Good News: Margaret Price (Lay Dean) is one of the recipients of the Queen's Maundy Money this year. Normally the Maundy Money is given by the Queen during the Maundy Thursday service. The service starts with the reading of part of St John's Gospel Chapter 13 which tells us how at the Last Supper Jesu washed the feet of his disciples. He gave the disciples the commandment to 'Love one another. As I have loved you, so you are to love one another'. So Maundy Money is given in recognition of Christian service. The service this year was to have been held in Westminster Abbey and was intended to celebrate the Queen's 95th birthday. Sadly that has been cancelled and the Maundy Money arrived by Royal Mail. Margaret said that it was a 'lovely surprise and I feel very honoured but very humbled'.
